    Fuel Injector Wiring

I feel like a complete idiot for what I did.

I got a code for injector #3, inspected wiring, saw someone replaced the electrical connectors, and looked iffy to me so I decided to replace their butt connecters and I was so excited to find the issue and fix it.

I wasn't paying attention to the orientation of the wires themselves.

I have a solid red wire and a red wire with a black tracer.

What wire goes to the top and which to the bottom?

P0203 & PO208, had a code P2155 but was able to clear that and it has stayed off for now.

Hooked the wires up how I thought they might go, inspected #8 plug in and didn't see anything wrong.

Restarted the truck after repair and no improvement.

It was about 30 degrees outside today with rain & snow, decided to make an appointment at the dealership for tomorrow.

Hopefully they find something quickly as my spare truck needs a transmission swap.

No worries, figured I'd at least update.

I just hope it's fairly quick fix!

    Re: Fuel Injector Wiring

Just got the call from the dealership, they said they spent an hour on it today ( my appointment was for 10:30am and they called me a few minutes before 4pm) they asked if I had ever done injectors on the truck before.

All 8 injectors were done at 267,683 miles on 08/14/2018 which is by a previous owner and not myself.

When I dropped the truck off last night on my way to work it had 286,467 miles on 10/21/2020.

So that would bring the mileage on the current injectors to 18,784 miles.

They said that I was right about something being wrong with circuit 3 & 8 and they would need another hour or two to find out what's going on with it.

They said it's $125 an hour and asked if I wanted them to continue with it and of course I said yes.

I'm leaning towards a failing ECM which I really hope it's not since my truck is deleted with EFi live.

    Hopefully the last update!

Just got my truck back from the dealer, they had two hours into it and we're back on all 8 cylinders.

I'll attach a picture of what they did.

Now I just need to get the transmission swapped in my '02 1/2 ton Silverado.
